Michael Nitro
Michael Nitro is a high-energy singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his powerful vocals and dynamic rock performances.
He has shared the stage with legendary artists including Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Bo Diddley, and Sam Moore, and has opened for national acts such as Bon Jovi and REO Speedwagon. His original music has been featured on the Showtime series βCity on a Hillβ.
With years of professional stage and industry experience, Michael brings valuable insight, constructive feedback, and a passion for live performance to his role as a mentor at Rock the District.

Mel Graeff
Mel Graeff is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist based in Arizona. She is the lead singer of All the Better, opening for bands such as Mayday Parade, Daisy Grenade, The Wonder Years, and The Haunt. Sheβs passionate about live performance, strong stage presence, and mentoring young artists as they grow in confidence and musicianship.

Vyncent Van Atta
Vyncent Van Atta is a nineteen-year-old guitar player, dedicated performer, and an audio engineer in the works. He aims to pursue music throughout his career. In doing so, he is a lead guitarist in the bands My Upside Down, and Pinup. He also attends the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in order to achieve his lifelong goals of becoming both a recording and mixing engineer.

Jared Wolfe
Jared is the vocalist and founder of the band My Upside Down. In the 3 years of the bandβs formation, My Upside Down has released 3 EPβs and accumulated over two million independent streams. My Upside Down also placed 3rd in Alice Cooperβs Proof in the Pudding battle of the bands competition in the year 2023.
Jared enjoys writing poetry, video games, guitar, and movies that are scary.

Dan Settle
Dan started teaching in Illinois in 2015 at a small music shop in Grayslake, Illinois. He began teaching guitar and worked his way to teaching bass, banjo, ukulele, and mandolin. Dan Settle has been in a variety of bands playing a variety of genres; his main genres are metal and blues. He has a bachelor`s in computer science and mixes both of his passions- computers and music- into creating and scoring video games! When not making music he loves coding, DND, and Magic the Gathering.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the 4th annual Run the District 5k on Saturday! Despite threats of rain, runners raced under clear skies and it was great to see so many families, students and community members come out to run!
Our CCUSD mascots gave it their all, resulting in a photo finish between HTES & DWES. There was a great turnout of local vendors, CCUSD family-owned food trucks serving up delicious drinks and smoothies, and some familiar faces cooking up pancakes and bacon! It was truly a fantastic community event in support of our educators. We can`t wait for next year!
