In the Fall of 2011, each school in CCUSD received a $1000.00 grant.

Grants were applied as follows:

Cactus Shadows High School – unrestricted grant
Sonoran Trails Middle School –  Development and Enhancement of World Language Program including the purchasing of supplemental books and visit from Chinese Acrobat troupe
Black Mountain Elementary –  unrestricted grant
Desert Willow Elementary – Classroom Resources (2) projector bulbs and (2) teacher microphones
Horseshoe Trails Elementary – Music – classroom set of guitars and music related materials
Lone Mountain – Technology – purchased legos for the lego lab which helps students explore their engineering interests
Desert Sun Academy – Technology – purchased (5) Mobi’s to be used in conjunction with Smartboards – giving students and teachers portable control

In addition, CCUEF granted a $1000.00 matching grant in partnership with Sonoran Trails and Cactus Shadows PTOs who each donated $500 to assist in bringing a Chinese teacher to jointly serve their schools.
